METS uses the latest software for design analysis and drafting. This allows for confirmation of detailed design calculations and modelling of systems to identify operability, constructability and maintenance concerns.

Mechanical

METS provides mechanical engineering services for small and large projects. Our Mechanical Engineers are involved in mineral processing plant design from the initial stage of a project through to commissioning. Our mechanical engineers can provide valuable input to existing operations through:

  • Maintenance, safety and operational audits
  • De-bottlenecking - identification and solution implementation
  • Project support for plant operators lacking engineering personnel
  • Scoping of upgrades

Our mechanical engineers are responsible for developing facility layouts, including competent layout of major equipment, piping, cabling, structures, access ways, buildings and materials handling systems.

METS capabilities in terms of mechanical engineering include:

  • Design of - chutes, storage bins, hoppers, crushing peripherals, screening systems, tanks and columns

Civil and Structural

METS has delivered feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments, detailed design of equipment support and foundations, processing plant layout and design of associated buildings and storage facilities. METS engineering philosophy is based on using computer design techniques in support of sound experience and innovative design.

METS has exercised innovative design techniques in the areas of - plant layout, structural design, foundation and road design, and building design.

METS utilises  CAD software packages such as Solidworks for all the structural and civil engineering modelling and conceptual plant layout and design. METS utilises Solidworks for Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and AutoCAD for design, drafting and detailing.
