Introduction

Manganese is an essential part of steel production, being the 4th most consumed metal in terms of tonnages. Over 90% of manganese produced goes into steel alloys, with the market driven by the thriving demand from China and India. Australia is the 2nd largest producer of manganese ore in the world and has the 4th largest ore resources.

The Manganese Processing Workshop is a one day course designed to cover the demands and uses of manganese, the geology and mineralogy of manganese deposits, metallurgical testwork for manganese ores, beneficiation of manganese ores, manganese alloy production and knowledge of current major manganese mining and processing operations.

His field of expertise lies in plant operations, feasibility studies, detailed design, and commissioning.
