Introduction

training_mettest.jpgNo two ore bodies are the same. It is necessary to develop metallurgical testplans to undertake the comminution, bench scale extraction and variability testwork. The development of testplans requires skill, knowledge and an understanding of the processes. In addition the project management and changes required are based on the results achieved.

A budget and schedule are essential at the beginning of the testwork. A metallurgical summary report is required including an interpretation of the results upon completion of the program.

The aim of this course is to provide an understanding of metallurgical testwork on ore samples in order to develop a simple process flowsheet that will result in minimum capital expenditure, maximise metal recovery, and minimise operating cost.

Course Benefits

The course will provide participants with the knowledge to:

  • Develop Metallurgical Testplans
  • Prepare Sampling Programmes
  • Prepare Budgets and Schedules for Test Programmes
  • Interpret Test Results
  • Determine the Laboratory Tests appropriate for the Study Type
  • Manage Test Programmes
  • Prepare & Interpret Elements of a Metallurgical Summary Report
Participants are provided with comprehensive course notes on CD covering the basic theoretical and practical aspects of metallurgical testwork. This will serve as a valuable resource for later reference. The course will approach each subject with sufficient detail to provide a good understanding of metallurgical testwork.
