Introduction
Project Management is the unique organisational competency that manages change and drives competitive advantage. It is a skill that must be taught and learned.
It is not well done in the resource sector with many reports of escalating costs, late delivery and skills shortages. Important elements are the project objective, scope, budget, plans and schedule, reporting, evaluating performance and closeout. It requires effective organisation and communication for the project to be successful.
To manage the risks associated with the delivery of projects resource companies need to ensure personnel are trained and standards are applied to project management.

Damian has over 40 years experience as a Consulting Metallurgist. He has extensive experience in the gold, copper, lead, zinc, uranium and iron ore industries. His field of expertise lies in plant operations, feasibility studies, detailed design, and commissioning. He has been involved in many projects including engineering, audit, due diligence, tenders and expert witness work.
